So given that I have a vast boot collection including various limited edition & player issue boots I thought it would be a good idea to showcase these and give you some more information on the boot featured.
I’ll be doing this twice a month (until I run out of boots to waffle on about) and we’ll be starting off with the Nike Mercurial Superfly IV BHM.
Back in January 2015 Nike announced the BHM range and for the first time ever they included a football (soccer) boot in the line-up. They took the latest Superfly IV and covered in a black & white print that featured gold accents which gave the boot a truly unique look and I’ll even go as far as saying no Mercurial boot has looked better than this.
The boot was worn & endorsed by just one professional player, Kevin-Prince Boateng. He rocked the boots in a couple of games despite not actually wearing the Superfly model (KPB wore the Vapor) but one big difference between Kevin’s pair and the retail pair was the fact he had SG-Pro with gold studs.
Now you may have noticed that my pair have been converted to SG, I decided to get this done after seeing how good the boot looked with the SG studs and the boot professor Jorma Seabourne happily converted them to SG for me.
Jorma’s keen eye also managed to find a set of gold Nike studs that matched the accents of the boot even better than the set I already had!
A bit more about the boot, it dropped on the Nike Football app in limited quantities but as it wasn’t numbered nobody actually knows how many pairs are out there. I did reach out to Nike and they told me only 200, whether or not this is true is anyone’s guess though.
If you fancy trying to cop a pair of these boots for yourself your best bet will be searching eBay or keeping an eye on any collectors selling, bare in mind they won't come cheap though!
