So Nike dropped a surprise that even Footy Headlines didn’t see coming by giving Cristiano Ronaldo a special one off pair of Nike Mercurial Superfly V that he’ll wear in the upcoming Confederations Cup in Russia this July.
The boot seems to be a hybrid of the Vitorias that was realised earlier in the year but this time with red knit replacing the white. The best part of the Vitorias is retained, the gold chrome soleplate which looks incredible against the red upper and is sure to look amazing on pitch.
A few nice touches on the upper are the Portuguese heel counter and also the “Campeoes” a touch above the CR7 logo. I’m quite surprised that seeing as this release is only for Ronaldo that these images have the higher cut collar that he doesn’t wear, leads me to believe that they may indeed release at a later date.
We’ll get a first on feet look at the “Campeoes” when Portugal take on Mexico on the 18th June, hopefully we’ll get to see some better images of these beauties before then as I don’t think these images do them justice.
